A nice evening

Last friday, we decided to hit up the Comedy Studio in Havahd Squa. This is a little known joint that's strategically placed on top of the not-so-little known Hong Kong. We arrived about 15 minutes early and the stocky dude at the front informed us that a private event had taken over for the night, and no laughs would be had. A suggestion was made (by one of us - we had already left the bouncy bouncer in our tracks) to visit Improv Boston in Inman Square, which we had done a few months prior. It's a highly humorous excursion but it was negged (again, by one of us). Therefore, we continued along, grabbed some kickass hot white chocolate, and hit up the future location of a closed Tower Records.

I always find that going out of business sales suck. Why? Because at the initial stages, you have shitty discounts like what we saw - 20%-40% off the whole store. Of course, it should have read "20% off everything except our crappy three month old magazine selection, which is 40% off." And even the 20% is worthless, because Tower Records rapes you on all their items in the first place. 20% off a $19 Jay-Z album still makes it $16 after tax. Half.com or even Amazon could probably chop that in half. Should I try going when we get to the 50% off range? No, thanks, I have batter things to do than sift through the remaining twenty Dukes of Hazzard and Gigli DVDs. Yet - this is my second visit to the store since they announced bankruptcy. Go figure.

Oh yeah, please please please check out The Departed. Fukcin great shiznit. At the very least, you can laugh at Marky Mark. (and his dialog isn't bad either).
